JOHN DYER (1699-1757) An oil on canvas, copy of Antonio da Correggio's Madonna and Child. 79 x 67cms. Probably painted during his Grand Tour of Europe in Florence in 1725.
Tear to top right. Slight holes and some restoration. With craquelure. The rectangle you can see is a crease from the canvas mount frame. There is a tear to the top right corner, minor paint loss at the lady's eye and the baby's face. There is a canvas dent to the left side and a little gilt paint spill from the frame at the top.
